Inspiration
As Ganpati’s daughter read God’s Word to the family that day, their spirits lifted. The story was of Bartimaeus, whom Jesus healed, as told in the Mark 10 story.

“As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus, was sitting by the roadside begging. When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, ‘Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!’...Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.”

New life
Inspired by the story of Christ’s divine healing, Ganpati and his entire family opened their hearts to Jesus Christ, and their lives were forever changed. “My brother said if we believe in Jesus Christ He can heal me too.”

And God did! “After four hours my fever came down,” he adds. “From that day on my family and I became followers of Jesus Christ.”

INDIA:
Ganpati labors in the extremely hot and dry climate of Gondia, India, located far from the sea. Constantly striving to provide for his wife and children, he spends his days ploughing, harrowing, and sowing—preparing the fields for the harvest.
Sickness
One day, Ganpati suddenly fell ill. “I was working in the fields and felt feverish and uneasy,” he says. “I went home and as I slept on a cot my condition worsened. My wife and children were very worried.”

But in the midst of his illness, God was at work. “My brother came to our home. He told us about Jesus and gave a book to my daughter to read.” The book, unbeknownst to Ganpati was a Bible study booklet provided by Bible League.
