A life with purpose

Diligently, and with the help of his friend, Morris worked through the study of the Gospel of John. When he completed it, Morris made a decision to follow Christ.

But Morris wanted more. “What else can I learn?” he pleaded. As he worked through the discipleship Bible studies with his friend, it changed Morris’ focus. “I want to help others like me who struggle to learn,” he says. “I want to share Jesus with them.”

Coming to Christ brought Morris more than eternal life. “Christ has brought me integration into this life,” he says. “I’m no longer alone.”

But Morris also has purpose in his life now. He went through Bible League training and he is now leading others to Christ through Bible study.

VENEZUELA:
Morris contracted cerebral palsy as an infant in Venezuela. As a result, he lived most of his 34 years in isolation. Unable to handle Morris’ handicap, his father abandoned the family, forcing Morris’ mother to leave her young son to work and provide for him. Morris was alone for days, then months, then years.

A few years ago, Morris’ mother enrolled him in a school for handicapped adults. Slowly, Morris learned to read and write. A man visited the school who had been trained by the Bible League to lead evangelistic Bible studies. The man attended a church in the neighborhood, and saw the school as a place where he could share the love of Jesus.
