 | ALBANIA—Ladimir was 10 when he accepted Jesus, but he never had a Bible of his own until recently. He got it with help from a Christian trained by Bible League International.
Ladimir was only 8 years old when he first heard about Jesus in his hometown outside of Korca, Albania. He was 10 when he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior.
“Before I knew God, I lied and I stole things,” says Ladimir, now 20. “I fought with my friends and disobeyed my parents. I’d feel good at first after doing these things, but then began to feel hopeless.
“When I heard about Jesus, I began to understand who I am and how I should live. I also began to learn that God has a plan for my life—that He put me in this world for a reason!”
Strength to turn his back on Satan
As he grew older, Ladimir sensed the devil tempting him to return to his old sinful habits. He longed for a Bible of his own where he could turn for strength. That’s when he met Afrim, a Christian trained by Bible League.
“He was like Moses to me, bringing me the Word of God,” says Ladimir. “When I completed the Bible study with his help, I received my own Bible! I am thankful to have found freedom, hope, and joy in Jesus. Because I have Him, I have everything!”
Sharing His love
Ladimir shares that his brother and sister also embrace Jesus as their Savior. They pray that their parents (their father is Muslim) will come to know the Lord, too.
“I try to encourage other young people my age with verses from the Bible,” Ladimir notes. Pointing to some of his favorite verses in 1 John 4:10-11, he says, “God loves us, so we should love one another.”
