Dreaming of deliverance
Where it began
For Tatiana, the scars of abuse run deep. “My life was marked by hate because of betrayal and abuse by my parents,” she shares. “My heart held nothing but coldness.” Tatiana escaped by running away from home to Bucaramanga, Colombia’s emerging metropolis. But at 17, she found herself deep into alcoholism.

“Then, I met a man,” continues Tatiana. “I moved in with him, and we had a son. For me, our son was a symbol of our love together. I sobered up to care for him.” But Tatiana’s relationship was short lived. “Everything was going well until I found that my partner had another woman. It destroyed my heart and the dream I was creating.”

On her own
Struggling to survive as a 19-year-old single parent, Tatiana refused to return home. “Being in the worst of circumstances, I filled my heart with resentment and fell back into alcoholism. When a group of Christians came to my home to talk with me about the Gospel, I didn’t like them.
But after they prayed for me, I felt a sense of peace that I had never known.”

Breaking the cycle
After three visits, Tatiana began studying the Bible with them. “The study opened my eyes to the fact that God really loves me,” she adds, “and that I am not alone. My relationship with my parents is improving, and my mom takes care of my son while I work. I wonder why no one ever shared the news of Jesus Christ with me before. I would never have waited this long! My dream of love is finally coming true, and I am learning how to break the cycle of abuse in my family.”

Millions of people throughout Latin America experience loneliness. They need Jesus Christ; they need God’s Word; they need the Gospel message of salvation. Please pray, and give to provide Bibles and training throughout Latin America today. You can make an eternal impact in lives!
