Wanted by government and God | Back
Wanted by government and GodA wanted criminal … David raided farms and stole cattle belonging to wealthy people and government officials living in Kenya’s Central Rift Valley. He said that a spirit showed him which cattle to steal and helped him avoid arrest.

David’s cousin John—a trained worker for Bible League International—was concerned about David’s life. Boldly he shared God’s Word with David using our Bible study materials. One day, John asked David if he wanted to give his life to Jesus. David said he wasn’t ready.

A bright future around the corner

But the next day, David did receive Jesus as Lord. John and other believers laid hands on him and prayed. David later confessed that after the prayer, the spirit that had led him into crime left him, and a new Spirit of compassion filled him.

When a local government official heard about David’s new life, he also accepted Jesus. Immediately, he lifted the order to arrest and shoot David.

Commitment to his people

David studied the Bible with John for one year. Then he answered God’s call to become a church planter. Even with no formal education, David completed our church planter training. He has already planted three churches.

Recently, John passed away. David took over much of John’s work in the Rift Valley area. “David is so dedicated that he attends all church planter training classes there,” says our national director. “He encourages others from his tribe to be zealous in reaching their people.”

With your gift today, you can help encourage believers with the truth of God’s Word. Please provide the Bibles, Bible study materials, and training they so desperately need.
