Partner Relations Associate

Job Summary

The vision for each PRA is that through cultivation of the relationships between BLI and mid-range donors that the territory will continue to grow, providing an ever-expanding source of funding for ministry. Annual growth is expected by designated percentages. This amount includes annual gift support as well as income resulting from non-cash or in-kind gifts, estate settlements, annuities, etc. Ability to cultivate donors and ask for mid-range gifts is expected. Obtaining and retaining donors at these levels are necessary.

Duties

  1. Articulate effectively the vision, mission, identity, services and funding needs of Bible League International to selected individuals, churches, and businesses in order to build the territory.
  2. Secure financial support for the work of Bible League International by utilizing the moves management cultivation strategy (identify, research, communicate, involve, ask, thank, report) in working with partners within the assigned territory.
  3. Articulate effectively a “stewardship theology” that ministers to the partner and helps them to recognize and fulfill their role as stewards of God’s resources.
  4. Meet or exceed the performance standards as outlined in the personalized Performance Measures document. This includes meeting annual goals for dollars raised, developing new donors, retaining donors, and asking for appropriate gifts.
  5. Identify and follow-up on opportunities to present Bible League International to new potential partners to ensure growth in ministry support within the territory. Networking capabilities are extremely important for growth of income.
  6. Focus on cultivating mid-range level supporters with the capacity to give at $1,000 and above. PRA will have the ability to successfully retain their partnership, and to increase their giving levels.
  7. Create a moves management cultivation plan for all donors within the territory using the Caseload Manager Tool in our database. This plan will include a detailed moves management cultivation plan for all donors that give revenue from the assigned territory, as well as for prospects, meeting goals for an increasing number of successful responses each year. The plan will include strategies and benchmarks for upgrading giving levels and requesting and receiving gifts. Identification of each donor’s giving capacity, cultivating to appropriate levels and retaining donors are key to success.
  8. Serve partners by advising them, as appropriate, of stewardship principles, including estate planning opportunities. Inform partners of estate planning services offered by Bible League International, involving the office of Planned Giving as needed.
  9. Work with RFD’s that are assigned to the same geographical territory in supporting their work by referring prospects that do not fit the PRA model; serving as a sounding board for strategy and closing ideas and generally supporting the work of the RFD’s when possible in order to maximize the income from the territory as a whole.
  10. Participate in approved public events, conferences, marketing/PR, partner vision trips, and other opportunities to expand the donors’ connection to the mission and vision of Bible League International.

Qualifications

  1. Must be a Christian, having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Must also agree with our statement of faith and conduct him/herself in a Christ-like manner.
  2. Possess a minimum of 2 years of successful fundraising experience for a nonprofit or charitable organization, or equivalent experience in a related field such as field sales or territory management.
  3. College degree or equivalent work experience.
  4. Understanding of fundraising as a stewardship ministry.
  5. Experience working with Christians and churches in the evangelical community.
  6. Displays humility and servant leadership with an exceptional ability to understand the passion and heart of the partner.
  7. Displays competency in the core competencies necessary to fulfill the position.
  8. Ability to work as a team with capacity to work with great effectiveness with other fundraising colleagues and team members.
  9. Possess above average communication, persuasion, listening and presentation skills, understanding that it must be the Holy Spirit who moves the human heart. The PRA must have a pleasant and outgoing demeanor, be a self motivator, and present a neat, professional and appropriate appearance.
  10. In order to build assigned territory it is essential that the PRA be able to follow-up on opportunities to present Bible League International to new potential partners.
  11. PRA must articulate effectively the vision, mission to selected churches and individuals as well as approved businesses.
  12. Tolerant of varying theological viewpoints, and able to view all believers as brothers and sisters in Christ.
  13. Familiarity with the Bible and use of literature in evangelism.
  14. Working knowledge with IBM compatible PC’s, Windows XP, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet.
  15. Organization and time management skills.
